I have several DT101 G2 16GB sticks and some has lights in it and the latest ones not.
Very strange…..a light in the USB stick is definite appreciated….maybe saving costs ???

I have two of the 8GB G3 flash drives and they’re great. They go on sale at Buy.com regularly for around 9 bucks with free shipping, though I have heard that some of the office supply stores also sell them for about that price, too.

Amazing, when I think back on the first WIn95 computer I bought about 17 yrs ago. It was considered state-of-the-art with a HUGE memory ….. a whole GIGABYTE !! Of course after a few years I was running short of memory and had to start sticking photos on floppies … which by now naturally are dead as a doornail & the data seems to be unretrievable.

Truly amazing how much memory you can buy cheap now. I now stick all my photo files on am 8GB Data Traveler, and just update it every month or so. I also back up my other files with another Data Traveler, so the next time my computer self-destructs, Kingston will truly save my ass by saving my data.

I have an old 2GB Kingston and I love the LED. I bought a HP with no LED and I missed it so much. But Kingston doesn’t even mention the LEDs on their website. Thanks for including that information for people like me. Just ordered a 16GB G3.

thanks for the words of caution! I talk about counterfeits in my 128GB post. As for the DT 120 with colored bodies, there seems to be NO 32GB. Only the white body models as shown in this post include a 32GB capacity.

I like the DataTraveler 120 series so much I have the 4, 8 and 16GB models. A word of caution tho, I have been trying to complete the series with the purchase of the 32GB model. I have bought 3 of them off eBay and each was a counterfeit. The Chinese are producing counterfeit drives so you have to be careful. Make sure your Kingston flash drive has a laser etched serial number on the USB plug, that is how to tell if it is genuine or not.

Question is if the new DT100 has a green LED as well. I assume it does since it still has the Kingston logo. Maybe one of my readers can let me know?

DT, sorry for my mistake earlier.
Earlier, I copied a big amount of data to my DT100 and I found out that it has a green light. Like you have written, it’s in the Kingston logo.

Sorry for that because this is my first time to send a file to my DT100. Please do note that it only lights up when there’s an activity. Like read&write.

I have seen a very small error in this part. I have the DT100 (G1) and it doesn’t have a green LED like what it is stated above. But this is still the best site for flash drives. Looking Forward to more posts.
